Justin Urrutia was born and raised in Chico alongside his three siblings. He is married to his wife, Jeovonna, and together they have two sons. Justin practices Danzan Ryu Jujitsu, a Japanese martial art with Hawaiian influences. He was introduced to Danzan Ryu at Butte College where he studied mechanical engineering before continuing on to California State University, Chico, where he further developed his passion for both martial arts and therapeutic bodywork. Danzan Ryu Restorative Therapy (DZRRT) is a blend of Japanese and Hawaiian deep-tissue massage that promotes increased circulation, improved flexibility, reduced muscle tension and stress, and greater body awareness. Justin earned his first DZRRT certification in 2010 at the Makoto Kai School in Woodland, California. In 2024, he completed the third and final DZRRT module at Wasenshi Kan in Roseville, California. To expand his expertise in rehabilitation and movement, Justin earned the NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) certification in 2023. He also completed formal training in Traditional Thai Massage. Justin further broadened his education as an apprentice to the late licensed acupuncturist Michael Turk, where he studied acupressure, cupping therapy, moxibustion (moxa heat therapy), Qigong, and therapeutic breathing techniques. This diverse training allows him to integrate multiple therapeutic approaches to help clients reduce pain, improve mobility, and restore healthy movement.
